About KiriCAN
The Kiribati Climate Action Network (KiriCAN) is an independent civil society organization affiliated with the global Climate Action Network (CAN) International and a key partner of the Pacific Calling Partnership based in Sydney, Australia.
KiriCAN seeks to foster a united network of organizations across Kiribati, working collaboratively with the national government and international stakeholders to address the pressing climate change challenges impacting our civil society.
Recognizing the severe threat posed by human-induced climate change—particularly from the rising levels of greenhouse gas emissions—KiriCAN is committed to confronting this crisis on behalf of the people of Kiribati. Our network stands united by a shared sense of responsibility and urgency for the future of our islands.

KiriCAN’s vision is a nation dedicated to protecting the global climate through equity, social justice, sustainable community development, and environmental preservation. The organization unites to achieve this goal.
Our Mission
KiriCAN’s mission is to empower civil society organizations to shape and drive the creation and implementation of effective national strategies for climate mitigation and adaptation, promoting equity and sustainable development at international, national, and local levels.
Objectives
KiriCAN empowers the people of Kiribati to take action on climate change through awareness, sustainable development, and the protection of their environment, culture, and land. The network inspires government, business, and community involvement, advocating for a transformative approach to resource use and climate resilience for future generations.
